Conscious breathing

I read somewhere that conscious breathing can be healing for the soul. And I know that conscious breathing is taught in the practices of yoga and qigong. Breath is regarded as prana or qi (the life force energy) in these traditions.

It’s interesting to note the mind-body connection that means when we undertake a physical act like breathing, somehow this can also heal our spirit.

My own personal experience is that conscious breathing can have a healing effect on my physical and spiritual bodies. I feel like, by breathing, I can clear the blocked places in my body and energy, which might become unwellness if I didn’t clear them in this way.

Conscious breathing also has a calming effect (reduces anxiety) and can even alleviate pain. What an amazing technique, when you think about it!
